The Company's capability to source high quality agri products, its proven strengths in hoteliering and branded cuisine, world-class paperboards, state-of-the-art packaging and robust FMCG distribution infrastructure have combined to give its packaged Foods business a distinct advantage in the marketplace.
ITC entered the branded packaged foods market in August 2001 with the Kitchens of India range of ready-to-eat products. The Company made a more broad-based entry into Staples, Confectionery and Snack foods in June 2002. ITC's established brand-building capabilities have helped the Foods business score early and impressive successes in the marketplace. ITC's six distinctive brands - Aashirvaad, Sunfeast, Kitchens of India, Bingo!, mint-o and Candyman - have rapidly gained consumer acceptance and market share.
