ITC Restores 32 tanks in Mysore dist - Business Standard

In an effort to alleviate the condition of the rural populace, ITC Ltd has launched a social investment project, Mission Sunehrakal (MSK), in Mysore district to conserve soil and moisture. With the active participation of the community, it has restored 31 tanks in Periyapatna, HD Kote, Hunsur and Nanjangud taluks over the past two years, resulting in removal of about 335,000 cubic meters (134,000 tractor loads) of silt from tanks on 2,430 acres. Apart from sealing leaks in the tanks, water harvesting potential of 335 million liters has been created.
